Mount Royal is Montréal’s signature green space and the landscape that gives the city its name. The best-known destination is the Kondiaronk lookout near the chalet, where downtown spreads out below and the St. Lawrence lies beyond.

The park is enjoyable in every season, but the experience changes: bright foliage in autumn, shaded paths in summer and snowy trails in winter. Give yourself enough time for the climb, the lookout and a slow return through the woods. Tourisme Montréal recommends allowing at least two hours.

Driving is useful when Mount Royal is one stop in a wider itinerary, but parking near popular access points can fill quickly. Follow posted restrictions and consider arriving early on weekends.
